The paper should contain an introduction with a thesis statement, a body where the comparisons and contrasts are discussed, and a conclusion.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Introduction<\/b>:\u00a0Apart from briefly introducing the background of your topics\/ themes, a compare-and-contrast\u00a0essay\u00a0also\u00a0needs a thesis statement. The thesis statement should not only tell your reader what you will do, but it should also address the purpose and importance of comparing and contrasting the material.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Body<\/b>:\u00a0Because this is a compare-and-contrast\u00a0essay, both the similarities and differences should be discussed. This will require analysis on your part, as some topics will appear to be quite similar, and you will have to work to find the differing elements.\u00a0There are two ways to construct the body paragraphs,\u00a0namely using a\u00a0<i>block<\/i>\u00a0or\u00a0<i>a point-by-point<\/i>\u00a0structure. For the\u00a0<i>block<\/i>\u00a0structure, all of the information about one of the objects being compared\/contrasted is given first, and all of the information about the other object is listed afterwards. For the\u00a0<i>point-by-point<\/i>\u00a0structure, each similarity (or difference) for one object is followed immediately by the similarity (or difference) for the other. Both types of structure have their merits. The best way to learn how it&#8217;s done is to analyse our compare and contrast essay conclusion sample. But before we go there, you need to know the key elements of the closing paragraph. To make a conclusion in an essay, make sure to write the following:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"13\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><b>Paraphrased Thesis Statement<\/b>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The core sentence of your conclusion is a paraphrased thesis statement. It must capture the main idea of the essay and its scope. An example of an effective paraphrase is below:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"14\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><b>Points of Comparison<\/b>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Call the reader&#8217;s attention to the similarities and differences between the compared subjects by discussing several points of comparison. There is no need to reiterate each argument in your conclusion; mention only the most important ones.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-leveltext=\"\uf0b7\" data-font=\"Symbol\" data-listid=\"15\" aria-setsize=\"-1\" data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><b>Your Opinion<\/b>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If an essay prompt calls for an evaluative approach, make sure to take a position in favour of one subject over the other. To understand whether there is a need for your opinion in the conclusion, look for the following words in the prompt:\u00a0<i>evaluate<\/i>,\u00a0<i>explain<\/i>,\u00a0<i>assess<\/i>,\u00a0<i>choose<\/i>, and\u00a0<i>analyse<\/i>\u00a0among others. Explain your position in reference to the main points of comparison.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Citation style<\/b>: APA\u00a0(7th\u00a0edition)\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3>\n\t\tText type 2: Critical analysis essay\n\t<\/h3>\n\t<p>A critical analysis essay requires its writers to write a critical evaluation of an argument.\u00a0The main purpose of a critical analysis essay is to tell a reader about a subject, and to explain its purpose and meaning. You will also need to present your personal point of view and critically analyse the subject.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Background Information<\/b>: Give the readers some context; help them understand the nature of the work. \u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Information<\/b>:\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Title\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Author\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Publication information\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Statement of topic and purpose\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><b>Thesis statement<\/b>: After giving the reader some context, provide your reaction to the work in a thesis statement.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Summary<\/b>: Demonstrate your understanding of the source, as described in the Summary section above.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Critical Analysis<\/b>\u202f(Interpretation and Evaluation): Here is where you finally present your analysis of the work based on your reading and critical evaluation.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Talk about how the\u202fsource is organized;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Discuss\u202fthe style and rhetoric\u202fof the source;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>How\u202fEffective\u202fwas the source and the message;\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>How was the topic treated; was the writer biased or did he do it justice?\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Discuss how the source\u202fappealed to its target audience\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Conclusion<\/b>:\u00a0A key thing to remember is that you should not introduce any new ideas or arguments to your paper&#8217;s conclusion.
